Fluoride treatments involve coating your teeth with a thin layer of fluoride-rich liquid, which is left in place for about five minutes. Then, this coating will be rinsed away. A fluoride treatment can be done as part of any routine cleaning and oral exam at our office.

Dental sealants consist of a thin layer of clear resin, which is applied to your rear teeth in liquid form. Then, Dr. Porcu will use a special light to activate and “cure” this resin, which turns it into a strong, durable, and transparent barrier. Dental sealants prevent bacteria, food, and acid from directly contacting your teeth. In turn, this prevents the formation of cavities. Sealants can last five or more years, and provide excellent protection for cavity-prone patients.
